The Promises of Recovered Codependents Anonymous

  1. And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone, even our own obsessive-compulsive behaviours.
  2. Before we are halfway through Step Nine sanity will have returned.
  3. We will seldom be interested in engaging in toxic relationships.
  4. If tempted, we recoil from toxic people as from a hot flame.
  5. We react sanely and normally, and we will find that this has happened automatically.
  6. We will see that our new attitude towards interrelationships has been given us without any thought or effort on our part. It just comes! That is the miracle of it.
  7. We are not fighting our compulsion to act out in ocdependent behaviours, neither are we avoiding temptation.
  8. We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us.
  9. We are neither cocky nor are we afraid.
  10. That is our experience so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition.
  11. We have begun to sense the flow of the spirit into us.
  12. We have begun to develop this vital sixth sense.
